Answering All of Your Dental Questions

Do you have questions about dental insurance coverage, finding an emergency dentist, or anything else pertaining to your oral health? Our team of professionals is happy to provide you with the answers you need. Below, we’ve addressed some of the most common questions that we get from our patients for your convenience. If you don’t see yours listed, don’t hesitate to call us and ask!

How do I get emergency dental care?

Contact an emergency dentist closest to you and allow them to provide you with over-the-phone first-aid guidance and schedule an appointment. If your situation is life-threatening, such as a broken jaw, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or you have a fever prior to experiencing a toothache, immediately call 911 or visit your nearest medical emergency room. However, after you get the stabilizing treatment you require, you’ll still need to visit your dentist get a long-term treatment for your issue.

Where is the best place to get dental work done?

It’s important to know what type of provider you’re looking for first, like someone who’s in your insurance network, is a specialist, or someone who can treat your entire family? It’s also a good idea to look at local dental practices near you and find out whether their office hours can accommodate your schedule. Once you’ve established what you’re looking for in a dentist, you can take to the internet and Google “dentist near me” to read reviews left by their patients to determine whether that’s somewhere you’d like to go to.

Can you just walk into a dentist?

With the threat of COVID-19 looming, you can no longer just walk into a dental practice to schedule an appointment or receive emergency care. You’ll need to call their office first to make sure that they’re prepared for your arrival. Many practices are checking their patient’s temperatures at the door, allowing them to wait in their cars until they can be brought back to a treatment room, etc. In order to abide by these important safety precautions that keep patients, staff, and yourself safe, always contact your dentist before showing up.

How much does it cost to get a tooth pulled without insurance?

There are several different factors that will go into determining the price of a tooth extraction. Some of these include:

  • Whether your have dental insurance
  • Your geographical location
  • If you’ve met your deductible for your insurance
  • You require sedation
  • You need more specialized treatment for a complex situation

The best way to learn how much your tooth removal will cost is to schedule a consultation. Our team at Signature Dental Care of Crystal River is proud to be an in-network provider and work with our patients to help them save money.
